Prepare and split bamboo in strips

Jiro Yonezama is a bamboo artist. In this vide, he demonstrate the consecutive steps to prepare the Madake Bambou (phyllostachys bambusoides) in order to craft baskets.

Bamboo splited in strips is a wonderful crafting material.

The Madake Bamboo est the most used bamboo in Japan for baskettry. But also, are used:
phyllostachys nigra (black bamboo)
phyllostachys bori (tiger bamboo)
phyllostachys vivax (bamboo hachikuj)

Tools:
kanna (カンナ) : japanese handplane
migakikama (磨き鎌) : a kind of sickle. Unfortunately, I got no results searching on the Japanese word.
takewariböchö (竹割包丁/竹割り包丁) : bamboo splitting knife
kikuwari (菊割) : multiple segments tool to split the bamboo
yotsuwari (四つ割) : technic to split the bamboo using 4 metallic rods
kegaki (ケガキ) : marking tool
nogisu (ノギス) : caliper
habatori (幅取ナイフ) : pair of knives (left and right) to rip cut the bamboo in constant width
habatoririki (幅取り機) : device to obtain the same result as habatori
purena (プレイナー) : handplane blade mounted to adjust the thickness of the bamboo (senbiki せんびき)
